While Travis Browne (15-1-1, pictured) was successful at UFC Fight Night 26, recording a knockout victory over Alistair Overeem (36-13 (1nc)), he was not so fortunate in the injury department, with MMAWeekly reporting that the heavyweight big hitter is now facing an indefinite medical suspension due to a left shin injury as well as a problem with his eye, handed out by the Massachusetts State Athletic Commission for the August 17th event.
Also facing indefinite suspensions for their respective injuries are Michael Johnson (13-8), Manny Gamburyan (13-7) and Cody Donovan (8-3), all of whom can be cleared earlier by a doctor.
While not out indefinitely, Diego Brandao (18-8) and Daniel Pineda (18-10) also face a lengthy spell on the sidelines after being given 180 day suspensions.
In an interesting note Conor McGregor (14-2) was only suspended for 45 days, but a later MRI scan proved that his injury was much worse than originally feared, keeping the fighting Irishman on the shelf for 9-10 months. Conor recently underwent surgery for the injury.
Main event competitors Chael Sonnen (29-13-1) and Mauricio Rua (21-8) both escaped without any medical suspensions following the event.
