Barry goes into the bout have gone 2-2 in his last four UFC outings, picking up victories over Christian Morecraft (7-3) and Shane Del Rosario (11-2), where he earned himself’Fight of the Night’ and ‘Knockout of the Night’ honours for the respective bouts, but came up on the losing side in scraps against Lavar Johnson (17-7) and Shawn Jordan (15-4).
While Pat Barry is a popular figure among UFC fans all over the world, it might well be Palelei that the fans in Brisbane will be supporting, with the thirty-six year old having been born and raised in Australia. Palelei (19-3) recently made his return to the UFC, following a 2007 loss to Eddie Sanchez at UFC 79, to pick up a late (T)KO victory over debutant Nikita Krylov (15-3) at UFC 164 last month. The victory extended his current winning streak to nine, with all of the bouts ending by way of knockout.
