UFC officials have today confirmed a new bout for the upcoming Fight For The Troops 3 event in November, announcing that Yves Edwards (42-20-1, pictured right) will take on Yancy Medeiros (9-1) in the lightweight division.

Yves Edwards is a true veteran of the sport, having competed in well over sixty professional bouts following his 1997 debut. After a journeyed career that has seen Edwards fight all over the world in one promotion or another, including several early spells in Pride and the UFC, Edwards has seen his last eight bouts take place inside the octagon, going 4-4 in that time, picking up victories over the likes of Cody McKenzie (14-3) and Jeremy Stephens (21-9). The master of ‘Thugjitsu’ will be looking to get back on the winning path and have more luck with the judges when he takes on Mederios. Edwards has come up just short in his last two outings, losing fights to Isaac Vallie-Flagg (14-3-1, pictured left) and Daron Cruickshank (13-3), with both losses coming by split decision.
Medeiros was unfortunate in his UFC debut, losing out to Rustam Khabilov (16-1) in April at UFC 159, after a thumb injury sustained in the first round following a scramble deemed him unable to continue and awarding the bout to his Russian opponent. The defeat marked the first professional loss of his career.
