WSOF have confirmed the singing of TUF 18 competitor Cody Bollinger (14-2, pictured), who will now join the promotion where he will compete in the bantamweight division. Bollinger was famously eliminated from the show by UFC President Dana White after failing to make weight for his quarter final clash with Anthony Gutierrez .
WSOF President Ray Sefo was more than happy to five Bollinger an opportunity, stating;
“Cody is an extremely talented fighter, and we’re thrilled to have him on board with our company. Cody has recently endured some tough times in his career, but we believe he is highly skilled and has a bright future in front of him. I can’t wait to see what he can accomplish in the World Series of Fighting decagon.”
Meanwhile Bollinger, who has finished nine of his opponents in his fourteen career victories, winning five by submission and four by knockout, said;
“It is not every day that one finds himself living a dream that turns into a nightmare. I knew heading into the show that this was going to be the hardest weight cut of my career. … I missed weight and have zero excuses about it, I didn’t adjust well enough to the situation I was put in and paid for that tremendously.”
Bollinger is expected to debut for WSOF in early 2014.
