Saul Elizondo Steps Up To Take On Henry Cejudo For LFC 25 On November 15th

Legacy FC

(Houston, Texas) – Legacy Fighting Championship President Mick Maynard today announced Humberto DeLeon is out of his scheduled bout with Henry Cejudo, and that short notice replacement Saul Elizondo will now take on the Olympic Gold Medalist in wrestling.

“Cejudo vs. Elizondo is on for Legacy 25 this Friday and it will be Legacy 25’s co-main event,” said Maynard. “In many ways this is an even more intriguing fight since Elizondo is coming off a victory and would like nothing more than to back it up with a win over an Olympic Gold Champion. Elizondo has nothing to lose since the MMA world is watching Henry and expecting big things, and he is carrying all the pressure.”

DeLeon, who has not fought since 2011, appeared to be struggling with negotiations on the weight for the bout, and a decision was made to scrap the fight and seek a new opponent.

In professional style, Legacy secured an immediate replacement opponent to face Cejudo. Elizondo (6-3 is coming off a victory on November 1st, and is having a quick turnaround between fights by facing Cejudo. Elizondo is Cejudo’s third scheduled opponent for Legacy FC 25, with his original opponent, Elias Garcia (4-0), dropping from the card due to injury.
