Donald Cerrone (21-6, 1nc, pictured) has postponed plans to move down to the featherweight division, with UFC officials announcing that “The Cowboy” will take on Adriano Martins (25-6) at UFC on Fox 10.
Cerrone returned to winning ways in his last outing, putting on a one sided display against Evan Dunham (14-5) at UFC 167 earlier this month, ending the bout in the second round with a triangle choke and earning himself the ‘Submission of the Night’ award in the process.
Cerrone had previously lost some momentum in the lightweight division, following a unanimous decision loss to Rafael Dos Anjos (20-6) at UFC Fight Night 27, but the victory over Dunham propelled him back up to the #9 in the official UFC rankings.
Meanwhile, Adriano Martins is set to make his second UFC appearance after scoring a submission victory due to a straight armbar in his first bout for the promotion and also taking home the ‘Submission of the Night’ award for his victory against Daron Cruickshank (13-4) at UFC Fight Night 32.
Martins is a currently riding a six fight winning streak and has come out victorious in twelve of his last thirteen bouts,
A bantamweight contest between Chico Camus (13-4) and Yaotzin Meza (20-8) has also recently been added to the card where both men will be looking to follow up with recent victories in their last bouts and put together consecutive win’s for the first time in their UFC careers. Camus most recently earned a unanimous decision victory over Kyung Ho Kang (11-7, 1nc) while Meza submitted John Albert (7-5) in his bantamweight debut.
