Trio Of Fights Added To TUF: China Finale, Including Matt Mitrione vs Shawn Jordan

The UFC have recently announced a trio of fights for the TUF: China Finale, in addition to the previously confirmed main event clash between Dong Hyun Kim (18-2-1, 1nc) and John Hathaway (17-1).

The newly confirmed bouts are as follows:

Heavyweight Bout: Shawn Jordan (15-5) vs Matt Mitrione (6-3, pictured)

Jordan, who is currently 3-2 in the UFC, will be looking to rebound from a disappointing performance in his last outing, where he suffered a first-round knockout loss to Gabriel Gonzaga (16-7) at UFC 166. The twenty-nine year old Jordan, who trains at Jackson’s MMA in Aberquerque, New Mexico, holds knockout victories in the octagon over Oli Thompson (12-5), Mike Russow (15-3, 1nc) and Pat Barry (8-7).

Mitrione, who competed on season ten of The Ultimate Fighter, will also be looking to bounce back from a loss in his most recent appearance. Mitrione met Brendan Schaubb (10-3) at UFC 166, losing out via first-round submission. Mitrione has spent his entire professional career fighting in the UFC’s heavyweight division with his six previous victories including the likes of Joey Beltran (14-10, 1nc), Tim Hague (15-8), Kimbo Slice (4-2) and Phil De Fries (10-3, 1nc).

Featherweight Bout: Hatsu Hioki (26-7-2) vs Ivan Menjivar (25-11)

Ivan Menjivar looks to respond from consecutive losses when he moves up to the featherweight division to take on Hatsu Hioki. The thirty-one year old from El Salvador has dropped fights to Urijah Faber (30-6) and Wilson Reis (17-4) in recent times, but holds notable submission victories over John Albert (7-5) and Azamat Gashimov (7-3), both of which earned him “Submission of the Night” honours.

Hioki is another man looking to get back on the winning trail after losing three straight fights by decision in the UFC, to Ricardo Lamas (13-2), Clay Guida (30-14) and Darren Elkins (17-3). Hioki had began his UFC career with consecutive victories, earning decision wins over George Roop (14-10-1) and Bart Palaszewski (36-17).

Lightweight Bout – Kazuki Tokudome (12-4-1) vs Yui Chul Nam (17-4-1)

Tokudome is currently 1-1 in the UFC after making his debut in March, 2013. The twenty-six year old from Japan made his first appearance at UFC on Fuel TV 8, winning his bout with Cristiano Marcelllo (13-5) by unanimous decision. Tokudome then tasted defeat in his most recent appearance at UFC 162, losing out to TUF: Smashes winner Norman Parke (19-2) by unanimous decision.

Chul Nam is set for his first UFC appearance after previously competing in the likes of Road FC, where he is the reigning lightweight champion. The South Korean, who has ended eight of his fights by way of knockout, last fought in October, 2013 where he earned a unanimous decision victory over Takasuke Kume (15-3-4).
