A bantamweight matchup has been confirmed for the TUF China Finale on March 1st in Macao, featuring Vaughan Lee (13-9-1, pictured) taking on Nam Phan (18-12). In addition to the bantamweight bout, the TUF finals of the welterweight and bantamweight tournament have now also been confirmed with Sai Wang (6-4-1) set to take on Lipeng Zhang (6-7-1) in the welterweight final and Jianping Yang (6-3-1) squaring off against Guangyou Ning (3-2-1) to crown a featherweight winner.
Lee, who fights out of Birmingham, England, will be looking to get back on the winning trail after suffering a submission loss to the #3 ranked Raphael Assuncao (21-4) in his last fight at UFC on Fuel TV 10 in June, 2013. Prior to the defeat the thirty-one year old picked up a unanimous decision victory over Motonobu Tezuka (20-7-4) at UFC on Fuel TV 7 in February, 2013.
Nam Phan, who competed on season twelve of The Ultimate Fighter, goes into the bout also looking to pick up a victory after suffering defeats in both of his previous two outings, to Dennis Siver (22-9) and Takeya Mizugaki (19-7-2) respectively. The bout with Siver, who is ranked #7, was contested at featherweight, with Phan opting to drop down to the bantamweight division following the defeat for the fight with Mizugaki, who is also ranked #7 in his respective division. Phan’s last victory inside the octagon came at UFC on FOX 4, where he earned a split decision win over Cole Miller (21-8).
