UFC 171 official weigh-in took place today, live at The Gilley’s Jack Daniel’s Saloon in Dallas, Texas.  Surprisingly, welterweight favorite, Johny Hendricks, came in 1.5 pounds overweight for his title bout with Robbie Lawler.  He now has about an hour to drop the extra weight or he will have to forfeit the title should he win his bout.  Robbie Lawler, for his part, had no trouble making weight.  Should he win, he will be awarded the 170lb strap.

It has been reported that Hendricks appeared gaunt and somewhat shaky on his first weigh in attempt.

UPDATE:  Johny Hendricks successfully made weight on his second attempt coming in at the 170 lbs limit.

Kelvin Gastelum took an extra two tries on the scale before he also came in on weight at 171 lbs.
